A Voss and Pike Casefile: The Early Days
Section 34: Dr Wren Halvorsen
Wren Halvorsen's new flat had its boxes unpacked this time. She'd gone freelance after the Candour business, community research for anyone who'd pay and wouldn't misuse it, and she'd spent four months telling Marian about a lecturer who left her chair.
"I told her you wouldn't be any use to anybody," she said. "Then I told her to ring you." She put a battered notebook on the table. "She gave me this to hold on Thursday. She said if the cabinet went badly I should keep it somewhere dry."
